Dove Sales Policies
Sales Policy
Payments
All book and software orders must be pre-paid. Dove accepts checks, money orders, and these credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, DiscoverCard and American Express.
Foreign Customer Payments
Only US dollars are accepted for payment; checks written to Dove, therefore, must be drawn on a US bank in US dollars. Credit cards are frequently the best way to make the dollar exchange. We will not be responsible for the cost of making any currency conversion.
Policy on Declined Credit Cards
If your credit card is declined, you will be notified via email at the time of the failed attempt to process your order. More often than not, this is due to an incorrect expiration date.
You have 7 days from the time the email is sent to respond and resolve the issue.
If we do not hear from you in 7 days, your order will be canceled and the book(s) placed back on the shelf.
Shipping Charges
Flat rates do not apply to multi-volume sets, such as Anchor Bible Dictionary, etc. whose shipping is calculated by weight and determined when we invoice the books, weigh them, and price postage according to destination.
Orders For Not Yet Printed Titles (NYPs)
When you order books that are listed as Not Yet Printed (in many cases these are Standing Orders), it is Dove's policy to ship them to you individually as soon as they become available. If you have ordered an NYP along with other titles that were shipped prior to the NYP's release, the NYP title will carry normal one-book shipping charges. If other books you have on order are ready to be shipped at the time of the NYP's release, they will be combined for the best shipping economy.
Out of Stock/Backordered Books
With the tremendous number of books available, and the difficulty of predicting sales on any item, backorders are sometimes necessary.
Out of stock books can several weeks or more to arrive. It is Dove's policy to backorder these titles and keep them on order. If you determine that you cannot wait for the book and would prefer to cancel, please inform us by email at custserv@dovebook.com.
If a publisher declares a book out of stock indefinitely or out of print, we will email you with this information as soon as the publisher lets us know.
Web Site Accuracy
Due to fluctuating international currencies and sudden, unannounced price changes from publishers we must advise that prices are subject to change without notice. In some cases, our web site may contain errors. This is true despite hours of proofreading and checking. We will move quickly to correct any errors or inaccuracies at this site.
Because not all sales (via other suppliers or consigners such as ABE or Alibris) update the Dove web site in real time, the possibility exists that books ordered through our site may have already been sold. This rarely happens, and only in the case of used limited quantity books - we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation but we need to make clear that a completed order, even a confirmation email, can still be in error. Our liability in these cases will be limited to providing the appropriate refund of the price paid and any shipping charged for books not shipped.
Lost Shipments
In the case of an international shipment being lost in the mail, Dove Booksellers will provide a refund after 90 days. The reason for the 90 days is if a shipment is lost and is returned to Dove Booksellers, this is a fair estimate time-wise.
