A Brief Biography:

Burke O. Long is the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Religion Emeritus, and Research Professor of Religion at Bowdoin College. Educated at Randolph-Macon College and Yale University, Long has held visiting appointments at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and, in 2005, at Yale Divinity School. He has published widely on literary, theological and historical topics relating to the Hebrew Bible. For more than thirty years at Bowdoin College, he taught courses on the Bible in relation to the histories of Judaism and Christianity. A recent move to new office space on campus and changing research interests create this opportunity to offer selected books from a personal library built during more than 40 years of writing and teaching.
